Hampton Butte--Petrified Wood
Agate and Obsidian at nearby Glass Mtn.
May 22-23-24-25, Memorial weekend--

A Club member will be at the campsite on the Thursday before  Memorial Day.  There will be a sign
with the letters RAC close to where he will be camped.
Go east from Bend on Highway 20 towards Burns. Just past Milepost 52, turn north(left if you are
traveling east), on Van Lake Road. Go north 10.4 miles to SE Price Road, a nice, wide gravel road
heading east. SE Price Road runs straight and flat for about 2 miles, then drops down into a gulch and
back out again. When out of the gulch, vehicle ruts lead north(left). This is the collecting area, and
someone should be camped close.
This is desert country, and a long way from grocery stores and gas stations, so come prepared. Bring
lots of water, your own shade, and clothes for all kinds of weather. We will not have a port-a-potty
this years, but there is a BLM vault toilet near.

In this New Year, let's all take a moment to be thankful for the sacrifices our
men and women in uniform are making, say a prayer for them and their families.
Also pray for our leaders in these times, as always, that they make wise
decisions and keep our country safe and free.
